Welcome to the “About Avish Parashar” Page. I’m not going to lie – this is basically a page where I brag about how awesome I am in an attempt to convince you that I am absolutely the perfect speaker for your event.

Still here? Ok, then here’s a list of reasons why I am the perfect speaker for a conference, meeting, or event for meetings and special events industry professionals (especially yours)!

(Note: these are written in the third person, because frankly, they sound cooler that way…)

  • Humor – Avish has studied, taught, and performed improv comedy for 20 years. He’s also performed stand-up comedy, sketch comedy,  and has a very funny humorous personal development blog
  • Experience – Avish has been speaking to groups on applying improv comedy ideas to business and life for over ten years. In that time, he’s spoken to groups as small as 3 people and as large as 700.
  • Authority – Not only does Avish speak about applying improv comedy ideas to business and life, but he’s written a book on the subject: Improvise to Success! (check it out on Amazon)
  • Show Experience – Avish ran his own improv comedy group for seven years, and over that timearranged and oversaw over 300 performances. Every show was an event in and of itself, and he learned a lot about the unpredictable world of event planning.
  • Event Experience – In his leadership roles for multiple associations, Avish has put on  many events including fundraising galas, charity auctions, all-day seminars, and planning retreats. Again – many lessons learned through those experiences.
  • Business Experience – As the owner,  artistic director, and business manager of Polywumpus Improv Comedy, Avish got hands on experience managing people, marketing events, selling, and administration.
  • Corporate Experience – Over the years, Avish has also worked in companies big and small, including a Fortune 100 company, a four person start up, a large hospital, and a thirty person family owned company.
  • Smart – Avish graduated with a Bachelors of Science and Engineering from theUniversity ofPennsylvania.  Not that that means much (There are some dumb Ivy League grads out there) but his parents would be upset if I didn’t let you know.
  • PLUS - he bills himself as the Motivational Smart Ass! How cool is that?
