Motivational Cliches and Improv Comedy
Here’s a video clip of me performing as part of a Comedy Night at the National Speakers Association:
(Note: the video starts out wobbly for some reason, but then straightens out)
The theme of the night was “Whose Cliche is it Anyway?” All the participants were given 8 “motivational cliches” and we each had to weave those into our own motivational speech.
I decided to perform mine improv comedy style.
(Note: If you like this video and plan meetings, or know someone who plans meetings, then check out my speaking info. This game is a variation of what I open my presentations with…)
For the record, the eight cliches are:
- Sell the sizzle, not the steak
- Think outside the box
- Check up from the neck up
- We become what we think about
- Awaken the giant within
- You¹ve got to be hungry
- Build a bigger pie
- Think and grow rich
Enjoy!
