Week-3-Robert-Bradford-Planning-Sample
Here are seven simple but powerful ideas to kick-start your creativity:
- There are two colossal mistakes people and organizations make when planning: 1) Trying to be “too big, too fast,” and 2) Creating a plan they don’t execute.
- The best strategy any individual can follow is to do what you love and find a way to make it valuable to other people.
- Your plan should not be a straightjacket. Rather, it should be a tool that helps you make the right choices every day.
- The best strategic objectives, whether for an individual or a company, are always going to be the things that you don’t know how to do.
- An objective everyone should have is to answer the question, “How can I be so valuable to someone that it’s worthwhile for me to pay other people to do other things for me?”
- To identify your strengths and weaknesses, ask others who know you and/or your work. They will most likely be more objective than you.
- Execution breaks down when people start accepting excuses for not getting things done.
Thanks for reading (and listening)!
Remember, there’s still time to sign up for the Smart Ass Success Teleseminar and get all the recordings, transcriptions, and bonuses! But hurry, because once the Series ends, the offer will be gone!

Dear Avish, Love this post. Especially item number 2. Do what you love and make it available to people. The issue for many of us is being willing to spend time and commitment to finding and expressing what it is we love. This flow of loves expression arises more out of a sense of being rather than doing while the focus in our everyday world tends to be on do-do. A motivational speaker who I once heard invited each of us into the do-be-do-be-do rhythm of life. Learning to do what you love means becoming more sensitive to that small still inner voice of being that is an experience of deep interiority. The first step in doing this is trust and the next step is trust and then you learn to trust the love you are here to be. Thanks for the post.
Great thoughts Tony – thanks so much for sharing! I have been rolling that idea number 2 over in my head myself the past few days…
